Thornbury is hot!
The Melbourne suburb of Thornbury is hot at the moment.
A Thornbury home has recently established a new price record as a renovated four-bedroom period residence sold at auction over the weekend. 13 Shaftesbury Parade sold for $1,945,000 through Nelson Alexander, which was notably higher then when the same address was sold in 2011 for $685,000 prior to renovations. So Thornbury is hot right now.
The previous house price record was an Edwardian home sold at $1.75 million last year on Streetle Street.
Buyer Solutions has been buying in Thornbury over the last three to four years for both investment purposes and for lifestyle. Our investors will be clapping their hands having made in the vicinity of 30 to 40% capital growth in two years in some instances for houses on land.
Here is the REIV list of growth suburbs published in December 2015, showing Thornbury at number 7 with a quarterly price change of 12.5%. Click this link to see the full list.
