Melbourne – New suburbs in lockdown as of midnight tonight.

Melbourne’s property buyers and sellers are facing unique challenges at the moment.  And now, in light of new lockdown measures in place from tonight until 29th of July in many Melbourne suburbs, it can be game-changer for buyers.

So from midnight tonight, the following suburbs are back to stage 3 lockdown.  The REIV has today confirmed at Buyer Solutions Buyers Agents are able to conduct physical inspections of properties in the locked-down suburbs, provided they maintain safe business practices and social distancing.  Our team have face masks, gloves and hand sanitiser and only enter properties briefly.

Here is a list of the locked-down suburbs:-

3012 – Brooklyn, Kingsville, Maidstone, Tottenham and West Footscray

3021 – Albanvale, Kealba, Kings Park, St Albans

3032 – Ascot Vale, Highpoint City, Maribyrnong, Travancore

3038 – Keilor Downs, Keilor Lodge, Taylors Lakes, Watergardens

3042 – Airport West, Keilor Park, Niddrie

3046 – Glenroy, Hadfield, Oak Park

3047-  Broadmeadows, Dallas, Jacana

3055- Brunswick South, Brunswick West, Moonee Vale, Moreland West

3060 – Fawkner

3064 – Donnybrook, Craigieburn, Mickleham, Roxburgh Park, Kalkallo represent you and attend viewings of properties in these areas.

Our Buyers Agents were very active during total state Stage 3 lockdown conditions earlier this year and you would be surprised who is moving house and why at the moment.  Some are downsizing, some are eliminating debt, others are taking advantage of a less competitive market.  Some buyers even wish to buy whilst they have a loan approval for fear that the banks and lenders will tighten up their lending criteria as a result of the pandemic.  And, they might do that.  Investors are also cautiously watching the residential market for opportunities as some have lost confidence in Superannuation.
